U14s on Top in Bromsgrove

On Sunday 8 June, Beacon HC entered an U14 team in a mixed "mini festival" tournament hosted by Bromsgrove HC.

It was only Beacon's second-ever trip to Bromsgrove (after last week's U14 Boys game).

Although it was a mixed tournament (i.e. for teams containing both boys and girls), we only had boys available for this game.

The team won all their games, scoring 19 goals, conceding 4 and finishing tournament winners. The goalscorers were Oskar (7), James (5), David (3), Shahmeer (3) and Dan.

The team organised themselves very well, with Dan and Drew at the back, Shahmeer, Oskar and David across the middle, and James up front. Mario pulled off some super saves particularly in the last match, stopping 3 or 4 shots in about 20 seconds, the last one off the post.

Big thanks to Katie for stepping up to manage the team, and to all the parents who helped her.

And congratulations especially to the volunteers at Bromsgrove HC for all their effort in organising a fantastic festival.

Fri 20 June - U14 7-a-sides at Lichfield: Boys v Boys, Girls v Girls. Tier 3 standard, so suitable for less experienced players.
