On Sunday 5 October, Beacon's Tier2 U14 and U16 Boys teams visited Old Sils in warm-up matches ahead of the Midland League campaign.
In their first outing of the season, the U14s secured a 3-2 win with goals from David (2) and Oskar.
A week after their excellent 3-3 draw at Bloxwich, the U16 team had a tougher day at the office, losing 8-1 to a team that featured several Tier1 standard players. JacobH scored the team's consolation goal.
It was a fabulous result for the U14 Boys, thanks to some standout performances in big moments of the game. In particular, shout out to Kaysan with 3 saves in the last 10 seconds to keep us in the game and make it a Beacon win!
DavidB just pipped him to the Player of the Match award with his brace and some excellent link-up play with Charles on the right wing.
The U14s jump straight into their first Midland League fixture on Sunday (3pm) at Barford Tigers, while the U16s start their campaign on 23 November.
