M2 vs Warwick 2

First game of the season for the Mens 2s saw them travel away to Warwick. 

The game started quite frantically with both teams trying to take charge. The first goal came within the first 10 minutes with Barry Guest playing a line ball through to Dom Boniface. Dom played a great ball to Richard Flavell, received it back and slotted it past a stranded keeper. 

The second came shortly after from a short corner drag flick from Jimmy Singh. 

Beacon’s tails were up and with Luke Boniface and Tim Wilding, under the reins of Richard Moody, working their magic in midfield. The home team couldn’t handle the pressure. Haider Ashfaq, Dom Boniface and Rahul Raikhy were running their defenders into the ground. This lead to the third goal which came just before half time. A well worked short corner delicately deflected into the goal by Luke Boniface. 

The second half started as the first ended with Beacon putting pressure on the opposition. Jimmy Singh robbed the ball from a defender on the edge of the D to put a bullet of a shot into the top right hand corner making it 4-0. 

As the game continued Warwick tried their best to find some form and a goal but the defence of Suneet Jheeta, Kieran Bhakta, Barry Guest and Nick Dickson were holding strong. 

Warwick did have a couple of chances which were easily saved by Aidan Croghan who was making his debut for the 2s today! 

Finally Warwick’s efforts were rewarded with a bobbling ball being put in at the back post making it 4-1. However, Beacon were too strong for Warwick to try and recover. 

Young Joseph Clarke continued his strong campaign with the 2s with a brilliant display throughout the game. 

The game finished 4-1. A great start to the season for the Mens 2s.
