M3 vs Tamworth 1

Beacon 3s off the mark!!

A very young side took on a far more experienced Tamworth 1st team who obviously looked at our side and thought it would be a roll over.

The first ten minutes was a little shaky as beacon grew into the game after a slow warm up. The rest of the half was a battle but people started to stand up and be counted, rising to the challenge of some pretty agricultural hockey.

The second half began well but beacon struggled to convert some good play into an end product. Then a mistake on the 25 gave Tamworth the opportunity to get into our D and go 1 nil up.

Beacon didn't let their head go down and pushed to get a goal back. Beacon then went down to ten players, but held the opposition with some good play.

Then the centre forward who came back on and played the way we all know he can pulling one back, then another.

The beacon second goal was a brilliant piece of hockey consisting of 4 passes from our back line, through the midfield to the forward who slotted it away. The best piece of hockey we have played all season at the perfect time with only a few minutes to go.

Beacon then held on to take the win.

A good game, with a side who are growing each week and will be a force in this league. An amazing attitude shown by all, the youngsters listened to the guidance and did what they we're asked, resulting in a brilliant come back when heads.could have gone down.
