Junior Festival Season Ends On A High

On Sunday 2 July, Beacon HC entered U10 and U12 teams in the final junior mini festival of the 2022-23 season, held at Hamstead Hall Academy and hosted by Barford Tigers HC. The U10s won three of their six matches and the U12s drew one of their three games against high-standard opposition.

Barford Tigers spared no effort with the organisation, which included a colour printed programme, Tiger mascot, free water and fruit for all players, refreshment stall, and even an ice cream van 🍦 And more clubs continue to join the Staffordshire mini festival circuit, with Telford HC giving our U10s their sternest challenge on the day.

Shout-out to our keepers 👏🏻 Drew and Lucas (U10) and Logan (U12), who all helped in goal for Barford as well as playing for Beacon. Logan in particular drew applause from the crowd for a stunning quickfire double save against Wednesbury, twice clawing the ball off the goal line with his stick while at full stretch. Well done also to Noah for making his U10 debut.

• Sunday 3 September 10:00-12:00 - Junior Club Day - at Aston Uni Recreation Centre. Friendly tournament, for all junior members and also new players.
• Training will resume at the start of the new school year, dates to be confirmed.
